About this Position

As Program Associate, one will be assisting in two schools concentrating on effective execution of the
program to ensure, - it meets diverse learning needs of all students and that the school as a whole is inclusive
for all. You will be working with cross-functional expertise across verticals and setting them accountable for effective implementation. You will be based in Ahmedabad.

About Samait Shala

Since 2016, Samait Shala is working with the vision of creating inclusive learning environments for every
child. Samait Shala has an intervention program for mainstream classrooms to cater to different needs of the children. Currently, we operate in and around Ahmedabad. In our model, we focus on intervention for students, working with mainstream teachers and educating parents. We work with -

 

  • Students to identify their different learning needs and create an individual program for them.

  • Mainstream classroom teachers to help them with inclusive classroom practices with which they can help every child in their classroom

  • Parents on the learning needs of their child and how they can support in creating an inclusive learning environment.

 

We believe creating an inclusive environment, where every child irrespective of their abilities are given opportunities to grow and develop with their age level peers is important for children to thrive and be acceptable in society. Due to scarce resources, knowledge, and skills on how to support children with differential learning needs, teachers and parents find it difficult to provide a thriving environment in under-resourced schools.

Core Responsibility

Developing self, teachers, and students.

  •  Develop and assist a team of teachers across schools through a variety of essential opportunities;

  • classroom observations, feedback, and aligned need-based learning experiences.

  •  Model effective instructional strategies by teaching or co-teaching a lesson in a class

  •  Plan, execute effective peer-driven learning circles, grade level circles and share ongoing learning experiences, which allows teachers and students to connect and collaborate with each other.

  •  Build a theme of inclusion around the school and community to support the fact that we can work with children with all abilities.

  •  Document all plans and actions

3. Other responsibilities:

Work with cross-functional teams like curriculum, communications, and development in Samait Shala to ensure smooth operations and increase efficiency.

Education and Experience:

  •  Preferred but not necessary, Educational Background at par with Bachelors in Education, Psychology, Human resource or equivalent

  •  Experience in teaching (Pre-primary/primary/secondary) for least 2 years in a school, in a low-income community

  •  Experience working with teachers will be an advantage

  •  Knowledge of NCERT English and Math learning outcome is required

  •  Female Candidate Preferred

Duration:

a) To be placed under probation for an initial 30 days.
b) Minimum commitment 6 months required.
c) The role requires you to be available immediately.

 

 

Compensation:

INR 20000 under probation period. INR 24000 to INR 26000 on confirmation.

 

About this Position

As Content Design Associate, you will be in charge of planning, designing and facilitating learning interventions for Primary school children. You will be based in Ahmedabad.

  1. Design learning interventions and Remedial for English literacy and Math

  2. Facilitate the interventions with children (aged 6 a to 14) through one on one or in small groups

  3. Analyze the data from the intervention and innovate the existing interventions

  4. Working and managing volunteers to coordinate the above processes.

 

Skills Required:

 

  1. Proficiency in English is mandatory – speaking, reading and writing

  2. Knowledge of primary education in India

  3. Comfortable with researching content and data online

  4. Comfortable working with different technologies such as designing content on laptop and iPad

  5. Coordinating and collaborating with school management, teachers and parents

 

Experience Required:​

  1. Preferred but not necessary, Educational Background at par with Bachelors in Education, Psychology or Human resource

  2. Experience in teaching (Pre-primary/primary) at least 1 - 2 years in an under-resourced community school

  3. Experience in working with children will be an advantage

  4. Knowledge about NCERT Curriculum and Learning Outcome is required

  5. Female Candidate Preferred

Duration:

  1. To be placed under probation for initial 30 days, upon successful completion of which one would be considered for the position of a full-time team member.

  2. Minimum 6 months commitment required.

  3. The role requires one to join us immediately.

Compensation:

INR 8000 under probation period. INR 13000 to INR 15000 on confirmation
